Implement a status management system for questions to track their lifecycle and processing state
Statuses
Open – The question has been submitted and is awaiting a response
In Progress –
The question has been taken over by a user for processing. To support this, a "Process Question" button should be added to the UI.
When a user clicks this button:
The question is assigned to that user
Status is updated to In Progress
An email notification is sent to the original submitter informing them that their question is being processed, Email Content Subject: Question Being Processed
Body:
A message informing the submitter that their question is currently under review and is being processed by {Assigned User Name}
Closed –
The question has been answered and completed
An email notification is sent to the original submitter informing them that their question is responded with the response . Email content: Subject: Question Resolved
Body:
The response provided to the question.
This would be easier to implement if the status transitions are defined as a small state machine. For example, who is allowed to move a question from Open to In Progress or Closed, whether reassignment is allowed, and whether email notifications should be skipped/retried when the status update succeeds but mail delivery fails. Those rules would also make the feature much easier to cover with tests.
