Rustdoc search yields a query parser error for searches including a type or signature with a raw pointer #148205

Closed as duplicate

Description

@cafce25

Reproduction Steps

Expected Outcome

Functions that match the signature (for example slice_from_raw_parts_mut) should be found.

Actual Output

Query parser error: "Unexpected * (not a valid identifier)".

Version

rustdoc 1.90.0 (1159e78 2025-09-14)

Additional infos

The same searches work fine with references instead of raw pointers, even though & isn't part of a valid identifier either.
