Function wrapper should call jQuery(function($)... rather than $(function()... for greater compatibility.

WordPress, for example, runs jQuery in compatibility mode by default. (thus making $(function()... error out on load). e.g., http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-emphasis/.

Do not know of any performance degradation as a result. No changes to the emphasis code itself is necessary.
