Summary

When the Desktop App is maximized, on Windows, the URL preview shown at the bottom-left when hovering the link is cut off or impossible to see.

URLView.show() positioned the view using this.parent.getBounds(). For a maximized frameless window, getBounds() includes an invisible resize border and reports a height that is larger than the visible content area, so the preview was pushed below the visible area.

This change uses getContentBounds() instead, which reflects the actual visible content area.

Added src/app/views/urlView.test.js to test that the bug is fixed. The regression test fails on the old code and passes with the fix.

📝 Walkthrough

Walkthrough

URLView.show now uses the parent window’s content bounds for positioning. New tests cover URL display and the view’s bounds after a width-update event.

Changes

URL view positioning

Layer / File(s) Summary
Content-bounds positioning
src/app/views/urlView.ts, src/app/views/urlView.test.js
URLView.show uses content bounds instead of outer window bounds. Tests check that show() sends the supplied URL and displays the view, and that a width update sets the view’s y coordinate to 652.

62-72: 📐 Maintainability & Code Quality | 🔵 Trivial | 💤 Low value

Cancel each URLView after its test.

show() leaves an UPDATE_URL_VIEW_WIDTH listener and a native timeout. The second test’s event also calls setBounds on the first instance’s mock, but no current assertion observes that call. Jest 29.4.1 gives workers 500 ms to exit before force-exiting them, so this does not fail the tests or make them wait for the full 10-second timeout. Per-instance cancellation removes both resources.
