Question: Does this library support shared compression dictionaries? #55

Open

Description

Based on the techniques from this article https://www.debugbear.com/blog/shared-compression-dictionaries#:~:text=Static%20compression%20(also%20known%20as,header%20during%20a%20previous%20session. Brotli is able to use a dictionary file to pre-load common patterns and use it to increase efficiency of compression.

I know this can be done through the Brotli cli in these docs https://github.com/google/brotli/blob/master/c/tools/brotli.md, does this library support this feature?

Okay I just read the code haha, it is not supported in the wrapper. Maybe I will build it.

I'd definitely be interested in supporting this, yes, but no it's not currently available.

This package is currently a wrapper around the Rust brotli package, so step one would be working out how to use a custom dictionary with that package (or adding support to that package, if it doesn't currently exist), and then from there we can design a nice JS API to expose this. It seems like there might be some support there for decompression at least (see dropbox/rust-brotli#78) but it's not well documented anywhere. PRs welcome!
