Bulk enable/disable action for Cards view in Matrix fields #18807
In Craft 5.9, bulk selection was added to the Cards view mode in Matrix fields, with support for Copy, Duplicate, and Delete actions (see #18001).
However, Enable and Disable were not included in the bulk action set, even though they are available as single-card actions. This creates an inconsistency: authors can already bulk-delete cards they want gone, but must toggle enable/disable one at a time for cards they want to hide temporarily.
Proposed behavior:
When one or more cards are selected in the Cards view, the action toolbar should include Enable and Disable as bulk operations, consistent with how they appear in other Craft element indexes (e.g., entry listings in the control panel).
Use case:
Content editors managing large Matrix-based layouts (e.g., page builders, card grids) often need to temporarily disable several blocks at once — for seasonal content, A/B purposes, or staging a page rebuild. Without bulk enable/disable, this becomes tedious at scale.
Are there plans to add this? The Blocks view is confusing with our blocks/data, but it'd be very very very nice to have the ability to disable multiple entries with a few clicks (vs 3 per entry atm).
