  • I have searched the existing issues

Current Behavior

PyStack fails to merge Python and native stacks when Python 3.14 uses the tail-call interpreter and its native symbols do not have a .llvm. suffix.

Expected Behavior

No response

Steps To Reproduce

Merge python and native stack successfully.

Environment

  • Linux x86_64, with ptrace permitted
  • PyStack 1.7.0
  • uv 0.12.23
  • CPython 3.14.8, python-build-standalone 20261003
  • Built with --with-tail-call-interp and --with-lto=full

Minimal reproducer

Save as repro.py:

import os
import subprocess

subprocess.run(
    ["pystack", "remote", "--native", "--no-color", str(os.getpid())]
)

Install Python and run:

uv python install 3.14.8
uv run --no-project --python 3.14.8 --with pystack==1.7.0 python repro.py

Actual behavior

Unable to merge native stack due to insufficient native information

Pystack Version

1.7.0

Python Version

3.14

Linux distribution

Debian

    Yep, I can reproduce that. Want to send a PR? We're currently requiring the .llvm. on 3.14 but not on 3.15, we probably just need to stop requiring it on both and just match on _TAIL_CALL_. Should be a small fix in native_frame.cpp
