Summary

Cuts branch CI wall-clock time without paid runners (core moved off Depot on purpose in a7e10a9 / #945; GitHub-hosted runners are free for this public repo).

  • Balanced Postgres shards. No .test_durations was committed, so pytest-split divided the Postgres unit suite by test count: shard 1 took 28 min, shard 2 took 15. The recorded durations (7,983 tests) put each shard at an estimated ~1,240 s locally. just test-durations-postgres refreshes the file.
  • Windows only on main. Windows SQLite unit (34 min) and integration (16 min) were the critical path on every branch push. Branch pushes now skip them via a matrix exclude; pushes to main still run them. Milvus on macOS/Windows (under 7 min) is unchanged.
  • Removed stale comments about Depot and the deleted Bossbot gate.

Fork PRs already run no tests: the workflow triggers on push only, and contributor work is cherry-picked onto our own branches.

Expected: branch builds bounded by the ~19 min Ubuntu SQLite unit job instead of ~34 min.

…n main

The Postgres unit suite split into three shards by test count, so one shard
took 28 minutes while another took 15. Recorded durations let pytest-split
balance them (about 20.7 minutes each locally); `just test-durations-postgres`
refreshes the file.

Windows SQLite unit and integration were the slowest rows (34 and 16
minutes) on every branch push. Branch pushes now skip them and main runs
them, so Windows regressions still surface before release. Stale comments
about Depot and the removed Bossbot gate are gone.
