This is true for (go) Minio server, unsure what is happening with their Minio Java Client... let's wait a bit and see.

What's the current status of this? Do we still want to do this?

@cstamas How would you deprecate it? Emit some warn when it is being used? Just adding the Deprecated annotation alone does not really help...

So let's sit and wait, as it seems (while "main product", the S3 server changed), the minio Java Client (https://github.com/minio/minio-java) used by us remains ASL2 and kinda seems maintained? So I'd put this issue "on hold" until this clears up.

So, server (go project) has been dropped from docker hub:
    #2140

Java client code is still there.
