covers the Promise.all asset imports for wasmAsset and workerAsset, rather than
starting only after the worker exists. If the deadline or abort ends the open
while imports are pending, ensure their later completion cannot create a worker.

Apply the open deadline before importing Vite assets.
If either asset import remains pending, openBrowserWASQLiteOPFSDatabase waits past timeoutMs. It also cannot respond to an abort during that wait. Line 322 starts timeout and abort handling only after both imports finish and the worker exists. Cover asset resolution with the same deadline and abort signal. If either ends the open, do not create a worker when the imports later finish.

Summary
@tanstack/browser-db-sqlite-persistencenow ships the OPFS worker andwa-sqlite.wasmas separate assets. Apps use the existing database API without an asset copy step or a WASM URL option. The worker previously embedded the WASM binary as a base64 data URL. The browser now fetches the binary as a separate
application/wasmasset. This addresses the separate-asset solution in #2101 and lets the browser compile the binary through streaming. How it works
The package build emits
dist/wa-sqlite.wasmbeside the worker bundle. The database opener sends the WASM URL to the worker. The worker passes that URL toSQLiteESMFactorythroughlocateFile.Vite moves package JavaScript into its dependency cache during development, but it leaves the assets in the installed package. The opener reads Vite's injected client URL and asks Vite to resolve the package's asset exports. This works with direct and hoisted installs, custom cache directories, and nested base paths. It avoids a guess about the package's location on disk.
In production and in Next.js, bundlers use the static asset URLs from the package build. The package still loads both assets without application configuration. A runtime without a page location reports
PersistenceUnavailableErrorbefore it creates a worker.Verification
200 application/wasmasset without configuration. The package build reports a sourcemap warning for the vendor URL transform. The browser tests passed with the emitted files.
