Install

From the repository root:

python -m pip install -e .

To include optional development tools (for testing/linting):

python -m pip install -e ".[dev]"

Command-line interface

After installation, use the unified geode command to run ingest consumers and admin tasks:

geode ingest ncep_dump_reader atms 2026-08-01 2026-09-02
geode ingest wis2_listener
geode admin --list-ingestors

The admin subcommand exposes GEODE administrative utilities. For example, geode admin --list-ingestors prints the currently available ingestors.

Dependencies

• Required runtime dependencies are defined in pyproject.toml under [project].dependencies
• Optional development dependencies are defined under [project.optional-dependencies].dev

Run tests

From the repository root:

python -m pytest test/ -v -s -W error::pytest.PytestUnhandledThreadExceptionWarning

To install GEODE for local development and run the test suite in one step:

bash dev/ush/install_and_test.sh
