Build Issues with 37833fcf2ea4d1f54d0e846c78ff79b307509809 #2343
Description
It's been a while since I've worked on this project and I wanted to get back into it. I started with a fresh development system with only git version 2.20.1.windows.1 and Visual Studio Community 2017 15.9.7 installed. I wanted to approach it as if I was a newbie.
I've encountered a series of problems with a clean build. I'm going to use this issue as a way of tracking the individual problems found.

In addition to #2344, #2345 and #2346, there were some minor issues such as having the js files generated from ts files checked in to source control.
