   I (@doggy8088 / Will Huang) have stepped in to take over active maintenance of Carnac at doggy8088/carnac (project website: https://carnac.gh.miniasp.com/).

   This issue regarding disabling or fitting the [...] shortcut description text has been resolved in my fork!

   Context & What Changed

   • Root Cause: Previously, Carnac always rendered the matched keymap command name in brackets (e.g. [Open a new tab]) next to shortcuts with no setting to turn it off, and long descriptions did not wrap inside the popup badge (causing them to clip off the right edge). Furthermore, bugs in bundled keymaps like chrome.yml caused ordinary keys like Enter to display bogus command names ([Open the Chrome menu]).
   • The Fix:
     1. Added a "Show shortcut description" checkbox in Preferences -> Appearance (ShowShortcutDescription) so you can completely disable the [...] explanatory text and show only the keycaps.
     2. Enabled text wrapping (TextWrapping="Wrap") on shortcut descriptions so long command names wrap cleanly inside the popup width instead of clipping.
     3. Fixed bundled keymaps & parser (Parse keymap key entries strictly and warn about bad ones doggy8088/carnac#43) so chrome.yml, �scode.yml, and �isual-studio.yml no longer produce false-positive descriptions.

   Availability

   • Source Code: Available now on the dev branch of doggy8088/carnac.
   • Upcoming Release: This will be included in the next official release, which will be published to GitHub Releases (both installer and portable .zip), WinGet (winget install doggy8088.Carnac), and Chocolatey.
