Source in OBS and XSplit #332

Description

@MrJRules

Carnac has the best functionality and aesthetic of any input visualizer I have seen/used. I capture different parts of my screen when teaching 2D and 3D game development software to my students, and the current fixed location of the input visualization is very limited for my uses. It would be perfect if this software could be infused as a source in both OBS and XSplit. This way we can place the source in each scene capture, in any location we desire, using the built in software's drag and drop source functionality. Thank you for considering the request.

    Bump on this.
    This could be established by giving the user the option to show it in an actual window rather than as an overlay.
    This way OBS could recognize it as a window and allow the user to add it as a source.

    Hi there! 👋

    I (@doggy8088 / Will Huang) have stepped in to take over active maintenance of Carnac at doggy8088/carnac (project website: https://carnac.gh.miniasp.com/).

    This issue regarding capturing Carnac in OBS Studio, XSplit, and Windows Game Bar (and keeping the overlay topmost) has been resolved in my fork!

    Context & What Changed

    • Root Cause: KeyShowView previously unconditionally set the Win32 WS_EX_TOOLWINDOW extended window style (to hide the overlay from Alt+Tab). Because OBS Studio, XSplit, and Windows Game Bar skip tool windows when enumerating capturable windows, Carnac did not appear in Window Capture source lists, and layered transparent windows without an optional solid chroma-key background were difficult to composite over arbitrary regions.
    • The Fix (Add a capture-friendly window setting for OBS and XSplit doggy8088/carnac#41):
      1. "Show Overlay in Window Capture (OBS / XSplit)" Toggle: Added ShowInWindowCapture in Preferences -> General. When enabled, Carnac removes the WS_EX_TOOLWINDOW flag and registers a titled window (Carnac Overlay) that OBS Studio, XSplit, and capture tools can pick up directly as a Window Capture source and reposition anywhere on your stream canvas.
      2. Chroma-Key / Capture Background Color: Added an optional Overlay Capture Background setting so streamers using Window Capture can apply a clean chroma key or solid background if needed, while keeping the overlay topmost (Topmost = true).
