   Thanks for the report, and apologies for the very late reply. This repository has not been actively maintained for a long time, so I am maintaining a fork here: https://github.com/doggy8088/carnac (latest release: https://github.com/doggy8088/carnac/releases/latest).

   I could not work out from the screenshot what is being displayed: I only see a narrow popup with an empty white rectangle, not the characters 0/o/O mentioned in the title. Could you tell me:

   1. Which keyboard layout / input language is active, and is an IME enabled (for example Chinese, Japanese or Korean input) or a non-standard layout such as Dvorak or Colemak?
   2. Does it happen only with l, or with other letters too? In every app, or only in some?
   3. Which Carnac version and Windows version?
   4. A screenshot of the Appearance tab, in case an option or a keymap file is involved.

   I (@doggy8088 / Will Huang) have stepped in to take over active maintenance of Carnac at doggy8088/carnac (project website: https://carnac.gh.miniasp.com/).

   This issue where pressing "l" (lowercase L) displayed corrupted characters (�/o/O) has been resolved in my fork!

   Context & What Changed

   • The Fix:
     1. Fixed OS keyboard layout translation (ToUnicodeEx in Show keys as named on the keyboard layout in use (upstream #161) doggy8088/carnac#30) and strict keymap/chord parsing (Parse keymap key entries strictly and warn about bad ones doggy8088/carnac#43 & Show the first key of a chord after a timeout doggy8088/carnac#44) so single letters are never misparsed by broken keymap chords.
     2. Added a Font Family selector in Preferences -> Appearance (Add font family, corner radius and padding settings for popups doggy8088/carnac#51) with safe default font rendering (Segoe UI) so glyph rendering is always crisp and accurate.
