This app allows moderators to respond with one of their saved Removal Reasons without having to remove a post or comment. You can also:
- Edit the response before sending.
- Leave the response as a comment or send it as a private message.
- Pin and/or lock comments immediately on posting.
- Choose whether PMs are sent from the subreddit (as modmail) or from the app account (whose inbox is not monitored).
- Configure the default options for editing responses, locking comments, and PMing as the subreddit. You'll still be able to adjust these settings while responding, but the defaults can be changed to your most frequently used preferences.
- Define a list of case-sensitive keywords or phrases that must be in a Removal Reason's title for it to be included for selection. This could be useful if, for example, you have some removal reasons that include the word "Warning" in the title, to distinguish them from reasons that have messages meant for actual removal of content.
- Create a new post with the app account. This can help if you want to make a post on behalf of the entire mod team without using your personal account.
- Delete (not just remove) a post or comment made by the app account. To do this, a mod can reply with "!delete" (without quotes). Note: This command will only work for mods, not for regular users.
After installing, some new menu items will appear on your subreddit. These are what you'll use to comment or message a saved response from the app account.
- To comment a removal reason: Find the mod shield menu on a post or comment and select "Comment Saved Response."
- To private message or modmail a removal reason: Find the mod shield menu on a post or comment and select "Message Saved Response."
- To create a mod-distinguished text post from the app account: Find the three dots (...) menu at the top right corner of your subreddit and select "Create Mod-Team Post."
- To delete (not just remove) a post or comment by the app account: Using your own Reddit account (which must be a mod of your subreddit), comment "!delete" (without quotes) in response to the app account.
- Added the ability to delete (not just remove) a post or comment made by u/saved-response. Simply reply "!delete" (without quotes) in response to the app with your mod account.
- Rewrote entire app in Devvit Web for better future proofing and maintainability.
- Removed the Settings menu item at subreddit level for a cleaner menu. Settings are still accessible from developers.reddit.com.
- Updated Devvit CLI to 0.13.2.
- Updated app icon. No new features.
- App icon now appears as app account's avatar.
- Updated description on app profile page.
- Updated Devvit CLI to 0.12.24.
- Fixed a bug where comments would not submit unless you edited them first.
- Creating a Mod-Team post now navigates you to the newly created post.
- New app icon.
- Added the word "Settings" to the subreddit-level menu item.
- Fixed a bug introduced in that last update that caused filtered Removal Reasons to not show up properly.
- Not a bug fix, but bumped the minor version.
- App now adds a mod note to the u/saved-response app account whenever a removal reason is commented or messaged privately, with the username of the mod who took the action. Mod notes are limited to 1,000 per user, so old mod notes may be overwritten once this per-subreddit limit is reached.
- For saved responses sent as the subreddit, app now adds a private mod note in the conversation with the username of the mod who took the action.
- Performance improvements, particularly with modmail.
- Added an error message when a private message or modmail fails to send to a user.
- Added a menu item at subreddit level for config settings.
- Added the ability to make a post with the u/saved-response app account.
- Changed "PM" references to "Message" for clarity.
- Bumped Devvit version to 0.12.x
- If sending a response as a private message from the subreddit, the modmail will now be archived automatically instead of showing up in your inbox.
- Updated to use new Devvit platform version 0.11.17.
- Fixed a bug that always sent a PM to the author of the post even if you were actually responding to a comment in the post.
- By popular demand! You can now choose whether or not to pin a response comment to the top of a post, assuming that you are responding to the post itself and not to another comment. When responding to a comment, the option to pin will be greyed out.
- In the config settings, you can now set a default behavior for whether or not to pin the response.
- In the configuration settings, you can now provide a list of case-sensitive keywords or phrases that must be in a Removal Reason's title for it to be included for selection in the app's pop-up. It even works with some special characters, but not commas (since they are used for separation of keywords).
- Send a Saved Response (only works with Removal Reasons) without having to action on a post or comment.
- Edit the response before sending.
- Leave the response as a comment or send it as a private message.
- Lock comments immediately on posting.
- Choose whether PMs are sent from the subreddit or from u/saved-response.
- Configure the default settings for editing responses, locking comments, and PMing as the subreddit.
None yet (initial version). Please send a private message to the developer (u/Chosen1PR) to report bugs.
